Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace Technologies, a Bengaluru-based defense and aerospace business aspiring to be India's dominant drone solution and services provider, recently achieved a significant milestone by introducing the country's first indigenous bomber unmanned aerial vehicle, the FWD-200B.
The FWD-200B is a MALE Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (Medium-Altitude, Long-Endurance) with a payload capacity of 100 kg. The Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) consists of optical surveillance payloads and is integrated with missile-like weapons for precision air strikes. With a maximum speed of 200 kts/370 kmph, an endurance capacity of 12-20 hours, and a ground control station range of 200 kilometers, the FWD-200B is envisioned as the "nation's eagle eye" and an aerial shield against threats.
“While the US Predator costs a staggering Rs 250 crores, our indigenous FWD-200B, built with state-of-the-art technology and manufactured in India, slashes the cost to a mere Rs 25 crores. This not only demonstrates our commitment to self-reliance but also positions India as a leader in cost-effective defence solutions”, said Suhas Tejaskanda, Founder of Flying Wedge Defence & Aerospace.
