Indian badminton players Anupama Upadhyaya and Tharun Mannepalli won the women's and men's singles titles at the Kazakhstan International Challenge tournament in Uralsk.
Anupama, 19, of Almora, Uttarakhand, won her second consecutive title by defeating compatriot Isharani Baruah 21-15, 21-16. Her prior titles include the Polish Open in 2022 and 2024, the Tajikistan International Series in 2023, and the India International Challenge in 2021.
Tharun Mannepalli, 22, won his maiden international title by defeating Malaysia's Soong Joo Ven 21-10, 21-19.
